How to check the HUID hallmark on your gold

Check any gold jewellery's HUID in 1 minute

1. Install the free BIS CARE app (Bureau of Indian Standards) from the Play Store or App Store.
2. Open it and tap Verify HUID.
3. Type the 6-character HUID code engraved on the jewellery. It's tiny, so ask us for a magnifier.
4. The app shows the purity (for example 22K916), the type of article, the jeweller's registration and the hallmarking centre.

What the hallmark on your jewellery means

Why it matters

Since 2021, hallmarking with HUID is compulsory for gold jewellery sold by jewellers in most districts of India, including Bengaluru. A HUID protects you when you buy, and also when you later exchange, sell or pledge the gold, because its purity is on record.
